Students who show greater aptitude or interest in media creation are encouraged to pursue several advanced opportunities. Many Areté students pursue Broadcast Journalism, which produces the weekly video bulletin for the high school and the community. Others lend their skills to the school’s yearbook production.
Particular students are invited to produce high-level media through Windsor High School’s participation in PBS’ Student Reporting Labs. A number of Areté students have produced reporting that has found a national audience. Other students are commissioned to create school and community media. For years, Areté students have been producing promotional videos for each of the junior/senior focus areas to inform underclassmen and their families. Other media opportunities have included working with local public television to produce short documentaries, helping local musicians film music videos and creating media for Nueva School of the Performing Arts annual stage productions. |
